FNHPA Sustainable Development Trophies 2025:
BY Redazione
Participation is open to all campsites that are members of the FNHPA, regardless of their classification or whether they hold a quality label. Applications open until June 30
Following the success of previous editions, the Fédération nationale de l’Hôtellerie de Plein Air (FNHPA) has launched the 4th edition of its Sustainable Development Trophies, an initiative designed to recognize and celebrate campsites that are genuinely committed to sustainability-focused projects. The goal of this initiative is to reward those who, through innovative actions, promote a new way of thinking and acting, one that is more mindful of the environment, local economies, and people’s well-being.
In 2024, around 30 campsites took part in the competition, reflecting a growing interest across the outdoor hospitality sector in environmental, social, and economic sustainability. For the 2025 edition, FNHPA hopes for even broader and more diverse participation, in order to showcase and share the best ideas and successful experiences from all over France. Through the Sustainable Development Trophies, the Federation encourages campsites to go beyond simply offering outdoor accommodation and to embrace a more conscious and responsible approach to tourism.
Five awards for the most innovative projects
Participation is open to all campsites that are members of the FNHPA, regardless of their classification or whether they hold a quality label. Projects submitted may focus on a wide range of areas, such as waste management, preservation of natural resources and biodiversity, the use of renewable energy, inclusive tourism, local partnerships, employee well-being, and many other topics related to environmental respect and social responsibility. The key requirement is that the initiative must have had a real impact on the campsite and its surrounding territory and must have been launched at least by the previous year.
To apply, campsites must submit a complete application by June 30, 2025, via email to contact@fnhpa-pro.fr. The application should include a detailed description of the project, relevant photos or videos, and, if available, any press coverage or media content that showcases the project’s impact and visibility. Each campsite may submit more than one project.
Winners will be selected by a jury composed of representatives from the tourism industry, academia, the media, and trade associations. The evaluation criteria will include alignment with sustainable development principles, replicability, stakeholder involvement, project design quality, and the overall results achieved.
Awards will be given for each of the three pillars of sustainability: social, economic, and environmental. In addition, a “Super Trophy” will be awarded to the most comprehensive project, and a special “Coup de Coeur” prizemay be given at the jury’s discretion. The awards will be presented during the FNHPA’s National Congress, and all participants will benefit from visibility through official Federation communication channels. In short, this initiative represents a concrete opportunity to highlight one’s commitment and inspire others in the sector to pursue an increasingly mindful and responsible form of tourism.
